Hi! My name is Nikki, and I currently live in the St. Louis area with my husband, Sean, and three children: Shaylea, age 9; Joseph, age 5; and Emma, born August 29th 2009.
Sean is the senior pastor of Heritage Presbyterian Church, and I am a stay at home mom who homeschools and likes to shop at Sephora.
Back in the mid-90’s when Hootie and the Blowfish were still cool I obtained a degree in English Literature. After college I taught for a while when Sean was in seminary. Then there was this crazy period of time where I had two kids and moved alot. And now you’re all caught up with my life thus far.
In my spare time, which does not currently exist, I enjoy photography, reading, and writing. I believe all food tastes better down South, especially BBQ (which is rightly made of pork) and cornbread dressing. I also quite passionately prefer Coke to Pepsi. My list of irrational fears include parking garages, banks, and aquariums. I love watching all kinds of documentaries. I despise my chin.
I write about nothing and everything: life in ministry, family drama, fertility struggles, and a healthy measure of completely random. Enjoy!
“A Thin and Shallow Light” is what I see when sunlight filters through low clouds. I love the name of my blog and plan to use it as the title of a book I will probably never write. But if I ever see the name published anywhere else, I will sue you.
